sandman02uk 0 Posted February 3, 2011 Share Posted February 3, 2011 All, i'm building a kit car I'm having some issues with the engine 2.0 Zetec Blacktop, basically it wont start, I managed to get it to fire up the other day but it sounded like it was running on 3 cyclinders (ran for less than 10 seconds) killed it and since then it wont start, it turns over although it sounds low on compression and whines things done. replaced battery removed and replaced spark plugs - several times New spark plugs vented engine (no plugs) cranked with injectors closed and trumpets open - engine pops back through the trumpet cranked with injectors open and trumpets open - occasional blue flame out of trumpet I'm starting to think the wiring on the ECU maybe wrong and the timing is out, I'm going to test the ECU/Coil pack for continuity on sunday is there anything else I can try?
