Good Morning folks!

Its my first post here so, hello! My name is James and im from the sunny midlands but due to the whole of my family being from Newcastle i am a proud toon fan

I have just got my tickets to this weekends Villa game in the post. I will be taking my girlfriend for her first experience of premier league football!

Is anyone else on here going? I see that tickets are still on sale so i hope there are a few of us to make a racket :icon_lol:

How do Jim lad, welcome. I am fairly new myself but they are a decent bunch on here. I am going although Sky moving it nearly buggered it up for me but managed to work around it. Going out in Brum on saturday for the first time properley (been down boradstreet after a conference beforehand but going with a brummy this time so I am sure will go to some better spots)

Are you gonna be in the home or away end?

Ye in the away end mate I can't stand being in the wrong end tbh cos it does my head in when others do it. I was surprised how easy it was to get tickets for this one tbh but with them being in the shit it wouldbe nice to get one over them after the other season.

Would love to win this one after what them wankers done when we went down

Wasnt there some kind of bed sheet incident? I cant remember what it said though...

Something along the lines of "Who's your next messiah? Ant and Dec?"

Should return the favour suggesting Stan Collymore or Nigel Kennedy.

Well i will see you there! The mrs is coming and she has never been to a game before (shes from ireland).

My friend from work is a villa season ticket holder and we are hitching a ride on the local supporters bus disguised as home fans! Will wear a jumper over my toon shirt till i get to the safety of the away stand  Hopefully none of the people on the bus see me as it could make for a hairy ride home again!

With Nolan and Tiote unavailable I wonder who will play in midfield.

Just a guess but if Enrique is back (which sounds reasonably likely) then Ferguson could play down the left shifting Jonas to the right and moving Barton in to the middle to partner Guthrie. Moving Barton away from where he's been playing so well is cause for concern but we really don't have many other options in midfield.

No Ireland?

Unlike us Villa would be smart enough to have a clause in his loan that doesn't give him the opportunity to score against them.

Sending him pre-crocked will see to it anyway I'd say?

I believe it's now a prem league rule that you can't play against your "home" club.

In Irelands case it appears to be against any club

Someone should change the name of the thread, 'cause it seems to have become the match thread.

Done!

Looking forward to my first away game this season. Cardiff away last year was AMAZING

ticket prices and train prices mean i'm staying away from this one. I lived in Birmingham for 6 years so normally this would be a definite. Hope we batter them, can't see it unfortunately

Id go with...

---Harper---

---Simpson---Taylor---Williamson---Enrique---

---Barton---Nolan---Coloccini---Jonas---

---Shola---Lovenkrands---

But i reckon its more likely to be what OzToonFan suggested with Guthrie and Barton in the middle with Jonas on the right and Ferguson on the left. Or Lovenkrands on the left and Ranger and Shola upfront.

2-1 :D Nolan and Shola
