No Daniel Sturridge or Kevin Davies in there then. A club like Bolton, has 2 strikers I'd take like a shot [yes I know one of them is on loan]

Edit.

Keep Enrique and Tiotte, get Barton on a new contract, sign those 2 above and Matt Jarvis, and another central defender [accepting a smaller fee with respect to finances] and I'd accept the fee for Carroll has been put to good use.

Will it happen ? Will it fuck, or anything like it.

Watching QPR vs Leeds match Bradley Orr looks decent Andy O'Brien is surely worth a shout? [Polishbloke/]

No but seriously Max Gradel looks decent.

Center Back:

-Simon Kjær from Wolfsburg (will cost about 5mil.), the next big thing. Similar type of player to Olof Mellberg.

Strikers:

-Kevin Miralas from Olympiakos (depending on the contract he signs will cost anywhere from 4.2mil to free).

And just because there has to be a splash transfer this summer

-Edinson Cavani from Napoli (will cost more than 20mil.)

-or Tomáš Necid from CSKA Moscow (will cost more than 12-15mil.).

Kjaer would definitely be on my list if we are in fact going for a CB.

I just cant see us dropping Taylor and Williamson and i dont think Kjaer would want to sit on the bench neither.

Williamson is a good player (for a Championship side) and Taylor is very talented (as he was 5 years ago).

I wish we would go for a CB...

Pardew: "Obviously we are going to bring in one or two players and I think we can get stronger from this point."

The lowering of expectations has begun already. We lost three players in January (Carroll, Routledge & Xisco) and now we're being fed lines about bringing in one or two players. It's going to be a shit, frustrating and unfulfilling summer.

It doesnt matter who we reckon would be ideal signings as theres no fuckin chance of the club hierachy matching our (the fans) desire. I look forward (if that is the correct term) to being HUGELY underwhelmed by our close season recruits.

Hope im wrong tho.......................

Assuming he means adding to the squad, I think if we can get everyone fully fit, it's probably is only 1 or 2 that are needed.

Ben Arfa and Gosling, are like new signings.

I'd like to think the likes of Vuckic, Richardson, Ferguson and Airey are pushing for first team football next season too.

If it's one or two players in and another 5 out then that's going to be a disaster.

So when a negative connotation can be put on anything it's gospel, all else is lies :icon_lol:

To be fair that's how it's gone in the past so there's no reason to think any different, you're kidding yourself if you think otherwise tbh.

I have little expectation about what will happen, it'll be what it'll be, but I do find it amusing how everything is made out to be negative all of the time.

“Now we need those three or four players at Newcastle who can get the fans off their seats. We know that is probably what’s missing and is going to take us beyond where we are at the moment.... that is the type of player we’re looking at and hopefully we can bring in one or two of them and add to what we’ve got”

Based on that Pardew thinks we need 3-4 players but is only hopeful of bringing in 1-2.

In the same interview he also said

“Overall, I’m delighted with 44 points... we’re in the top 10 again with three games to go”

All managers spout shit but this is the part of management Pardew really excels in.
