So the club seem have fought really hard to keep the second top scorer in the league :(

In saying that, anyone couldve offered the 7.5million to get to speak to him...

who pays the henchmen?...us, Chelsea,Demba?....

From what I can gather the fee is £7.5m with £5m going to the club and £2.5m going to Demba. The agents' extortionate fees will be paid by Chelsea.

Would have stayed if we were challenging a top 4 spot again but who can blame him? Disappointing but predictable. A number of us wanted him out at the beginning of the season based on his end to last season but the fucker came good again which makes it harder to swallow. We know Cisse can do it.

Stupid to do this today of all days. Cisse. Marveaux and Obertan tonight?

Why ??

If we'd said play tonight and you can talk tomorrow he'd have said "fuck off I might get injured".

Pretty sure we'd also be breaking the release contract clause if we were to stall allowing him to speak to Chelsea.

If we had any power to stop him talking to another club once that was matched there wouldn't have been much point in it existing at all.

Silly anyone getting anti club on this. He failed a medical at Stoke, has a fucked knee but this was a gamble that came off.

We've had 18 months of a very good player whose main priority is filling his bank in case his knee goes. Not sure if any other club would do this deal.

No hard feelings and thanks for a great 18 months.

They've also had 6 months of a player doing well to sort out a paltry release fee.

Oh and the owner and chairman are not the club.

i don't think it's a particularly good move for him. he'll probably be second choice after torres. then when benitez is replaced in the summer, the new manager will want to bring his own striker(s) in. he might not get that many games.

Which requires him (and he representatives) to accept a contract without it in.

You can argue it both ways, perhaps he wanted far too much money, or wouldn't accept any contract without a release clause in it.

If the club hadn't put it there originally maybe he wouldnt have signed for us at all.

I'm kind of with CT on this one (though not quite so enthused by it as he seems to be)

if the owner put his finger in his pocket, he'd probably stay. we're losing another good player.

Silly comment.

If he's wanting £120,000 how can they sort it out?

If a player doesnt want to do a deal you cant make them.

I think the fact that 'he' obviously demanded a release clause makes 'his' intentions/ motivations pretty clear.

aye, its sort of like when people criticise the manager for talking to the press too much as if hes gone and called a press conference himself rather than just answering what hes asked in his normal press duties.

Ba and his team will have requested this clause, not the club.
