Nothing to do with the fact we're a bigger club, and even WITH Ashley a far better infrastructure and fan base then? I don't think there's a more deluded support in world football to be honest. Looks like you offered him 70k a week, he came back to us and said if we matched it he'd sign for us, we told him to do one, and he's now signed / signing for you. A release clause means the player can leave if certain criteria are met. It does not invalidate a contract, so he can leave for free. Reminds me of Mikel Forsell failing our medical, Brum took a gamble on him and he was a total flop... Ba has the same risks associated. Baines is pure class, why would I state he was shite? I'd happily say any Everton player over Baines. I didnt want us to sign Ba, and I dont want us to sign Bothroyd or Shane Long. To be fair they're all consoling themselves on their website that we've offered him 70k a week so it's not just Andy who is deluded, they can't comprehend why anyone would choose us over them on a level playing field. It's more delusional than Hitler Youth, but they all believe it, Everton historically are footballs biggest over achievers, in modern times I can't see what is more attractive about them than say Fulham or Sunderland, although those two clubs actually have money to spend whereas Everton don't. Toon: Won the top division 4 times, the last being in 1927 Won the FA Cup 6 times, the last being in 1955 Won the Uefa Fairs Cup in 1969 Total major trophies - 11 Everton: Won the top division 9 times, the last being 1987 but the titles stretch back through most decades Won the FA Cup 5 times, the last being in 1995 Won the Cup Winners Cup in 1985 Total major trophies - 15 So yes we've only won 4 more, but come on the last time you won the league was in 1927 when all the teams were in black and white lol!
