And finally I think this will show Pardew et co that we need more than one new striker, and we need more creativity in midfield to put pressure on players.

Ridiculous that Barton and Cabaye aren't involved in these matches because of piss-weak planning. They're going to be two of our key creative sources this season, along with HBA assuming he doesn't get snapped every time he plays.

No surprise that this midfield didn't create much. Better off playing Abeid from the sounds of it.

Why the fuck was an American tour organised in the first place? Playing soccerball against a load of teams who slam into eachother in every single sport is just asking for trouble.

It's a meaningless friendly; at least it's match practice and fitness.

We never looked comfortable last night. Ba & Marveaux were originally withdrawn due to having to play on an astroturf, Ba got ten minutes at the end like.

I think the lads were cautionate & didn't really go all out. That said our goal was onside. :icon_lol:

Of course you say that. What else can you say about this shambles of a tour?

While manure are slamming in the goals in preparation for another tilt at the title, we get embarrassed so predictably claim that friendlies mean nothing. Don't care about them. Right, its what happens on the day that counts. Exactly.

While manu are getting their players together, we have ours split around the globe. No reason to try to emulate a team like manu in terms of preparation is there? While manu. invest in young British talent, we bring in a handful of no-name frogs probably supplemented by another couple of second rate, cut price foreigners who really don't want to be here. And we wonder why Sturridge isn't champing at the bit to come to SJP and play in front of 50,000 fans? And then to cap it all, we basically tell Barton that he can fuck off, we don't need him.

Pre-season preparation at the Toon. You have to love it, just love it.

Slight over reaction perhaps? Didn't the team we drew 0-0 with beat Man U 3-1 last season? :icon_lol:
