we usually call it 'breezy' but thanks to those red warnings by the met office we've had a complete overreaction and the central belt has shut down - total joke - took the dug oot fur a walk and my hair got ruffled ffs - mind you i got a day off so keep those red spots coming the daft barsteds!

about 60mph - gusts hitting 80 in some places ... must be similar speeds doon the toon eh? windy enough to make ye put on a pair o breeks under the kilt but not enough to keep you indoors as there's nae wind in the pubs later on!

.... speeds of up to 165 mph up the mountains though ... so wouldnae like tae be up aonach mor or the cairngorms at the moment

On the train coming back from that there London. We're already been told we're going to be delayed due to the winds and now we're stuck outside the Emirates as someone has just chucked themselves under another train. GREAT.

we're up to 105.6mph outside now!!! #cardross #scotstorm #hurricanebawbag

That third one's Helensburgh isn't it? I used to live there back in the mid 90s, if it's still as bad it could probably do with a good flood ;)

Was meant to be doing some indoor Karting today up in Cambuslang. Got up to our place in East Kilbride at 10am only for the bloke to ring me at half ten to say they had to postpone it. Schools closed up there so people taking day off etc. All due to a bit of wind. (Was damn windy tbf like on drive back)

Some pics on the Daily Mail website. Looks like my part of the land and Largs got it the worst during the day though it appears to be have been worse between maybe 4-8 so not sure what other damage their has been....

storm in a teacup - no damage done to my plantpot and the litter has been cleared - a real day of carnage in my garden although there are 2 puddles that haven't evaporated yet :icon_lol:

- aside from all the BS I got the shoppin done, walked the dug a few times, my fitba training was on (outdoors - cos we're fkin rock hard up here) and I had a few beers - all done by walking/running tae the places noted - over cautious nanny state bollox
