when I lived up in Jockland in the 80's, I made a few friends who would have taken me to see both Celtic and Rangers, but I didn't. I regret not going, just so I could say that I had been. I went to Aberdeen once though, soon after Alex Ferguson had left and they were a force at that time.

 

The lads I knew were good lads, but I feel sorry for them that they are so deluded about the merits of their shite league though.

 

 

 

Most fans up there are under no illusion of how shite the league is, the OF fans however totally different kettle of fish and their biggest clubs in the world bollocks.

 

The league up there is absolutely crippled by the OF. It will never be a "great" league but without the OF it'd be competitive, which is all a fan can ask tbh.

 

Shame there's such a lack of coverage of the "saga" actually, it's possibly the biggest prolonged scandal in any league ever.

Even if true (which I doubt), biggest effect would be on Celtic as the OF get 80% of the cash anyway (which is only £16 mill in total).

 

Sky have 500,000 subscribers up north, they only need 33,000-ish to cover their SPL costs, if they pulled the plug, reckon they could well lose more than that.

Here 1 of maybe three will win it, up north it’s one of two, that’s an awfully small difference.

 

IF the EPL had this year’s top 4 getting 80% of the TV money from now on, irrespective of their league position in future, and the other clubs equally shared the remaining 20%, how long would it be before the top 4 was as “locked in” as the top 2 are up north ?? As much as Rangers are a scummy club, I tell you what I can't understand as well, we've all been to Ibrox, it is without any doubt one of the most beautiful stadiums in the world. The main stand there is in fact my favourite stand anywhere. So this consortium will buy the club for £5.5m once its been liquidated, how the fuck is Ibrox not worth £100m? Even the land must be worth an unbelievable amount of money. Is Ibrox not owned by Rangers FC?

Housemate is saying this is a perfect opportunity for Rangers to apply to enter the English league system and insisted that it'd be good for English football if they were allowed to enter League 2 rather than starting at the absolute bottom. He thought they'd still be pulling in at 30k crowds for each season that it took for them to get up the Premier League (which he thought would only take 4 seasons).

You get a lot of emotional guys coming out with a lot of rubbish, but what I will say is that it sucks that it's the fans who are going to have to suffer for this. Murray, Whyte et al; what do they pay?

 

As for the 'OF stitch up', as a lifelong Rangers fan, there is honestly nothing I'd rather see than Aberdeen/Hearts/Hibs/whoever else push on to become a third power in Scottish football. I mean, for a country of 5 million, we do ok, but a three way title race would certainly be a lot more interesting.
