Shit the bed, for all the dodgy reffing and our shit performance in the first half it must sicken the mackems to realise how shit they truly are.

phew! why cant we be that positive all the time? even before the sending off we looked the better team. Tiote looked tired form the midweek game. HBA playing like a man possessed at times. Cabaye was very poor again, but despite the negatives of not capitalizing on the sending off/penalty etc im happy with the draw.. it could have been much worse the way MON has Sunderland playing and they did make it very hard for us to break them down.

Started slowly, but came into it as the game grew. Should have had a couple more penalties, but at the same time, could have won without them.

Who was the co-commentator on ESPN by the way? Total roaster!

It's an absolute disgrace that Shola didn't take the pen. He won it, and he is a world-class penalty taker, as well as having an excellent temperament for playing against the Mackems.

Agreed, the only proper local lad on the pitch. Well, sort of ;)

He would have nailed it.

Deserved a win there like, utter shower them lot. Ameobi done the business again should have took the Pen too tbh. Cattermole cannot avoid getting a red card against us can he  pissing myself laughing when I saw that, that's them out the FA cup like and 2 other losses no Sessegnon either.

I think Pardew got that 1st half wrong today. O'Neill spotted that Jonas and Santon were getting caught too high and we were leaving gaps.

Id have had Jonas off had we another sub-his crossing is generally poor. HBA was very good-up against 10men, but scared the piss out of Richardson. Hope he kicks on from there.

After an hour I thought we wouldn't score, but even with that equaliser it feels like 2pts dropped.

Also, and I'm serious here; Shola needs to start against these cunts for the rest of his time at the club. Theyre terrified by him, he's like Jason or Freddie to them.

Mike Dean is an absolute cunt, thought he might conspire to not give us the penalty (again). Shola should have taken it, he's a penalty specialist and he earned it.

In the end a draw is not necessarily a bad result but we should ultimately have won it. Once the game settled down we were clearly the superior team even before they went down to 10.

To make the hopeless refereeing worse the commentary was ridiculously one sided as well, just hopelessly bad.

Great half from Ben Arfa, has surely earned himself the right to start in the next match. I would have rather that Simpson went off at he half instead of Santon, but not too bad from Pardew overall.

That's hilarious that Cattermong was sent off after the whistle, complete and utter embarrassment of a 'player' he is.

Still shaking. What a game. It was there for all to see how much better we play when we move the ball around and pass it to feet. Ben Arfa lifts the fans and the players alike. He can create something from nothing, and even if he loses the ball once or twice he is still an amazing asset to have. Would love to see him get a run in the team.

After all that I will settle for the draw, mind. Okay, we could maybe have nicked it, but on the basis of our first half performance we didn't deserve to win. Mike Dean was shocking today. I think there are two ways refs must think about games. He obviously had it in his mind that he wasn't going to let rash tackles fly in and would book everyone for anything rather than maybe just taking a step back and letting the game flow. Really ruined the game for me.

Still can't quite believe their pen. Fair enough, Williamson was having a good tug...of Turners shirt...but Turner was never in a million years going to get that ball, and the same sort of things happen 6 or 7 times a game in the PL nowadays. If Dean is giving that then why didn't we get one for John O Shea raising two hands and shoving Ba at the edge of the box? Just a shame we didn't take advantage when we did actually get a pen.

My worst fears nearly materialized, a loss would have been unbearable.

Cisse was anonymous the entire game.

Williamson should get a medal for shirt pulling in the box.

Hard to believe Ba missed the penalty.

Plaudits to Shola for saving our bacon.

BenArfa certainly made an impact.

Why was Santon taken off?

2 points needlessly dropped.

By the way, as with the ridiculous volley he scored against them, Shola misses that chance EVERY TIME against anyone other than the mackems. It's both amazing and hilarious how composed he is in the box against them.
