Aye there wasn't many, maybe a couple? I was in Leazes in east corner & it seldom got going as much as it should.

Saying that the mackems were a let down, there's times they've came here and sang loudly before kick off & we beat them.

I thought it was quite poor atmosphere wise - for a derby anyway.

I agree, 930 turn oot on the drink for people doesnt help like, just give us a 745 game one year with nee escort for the mackems then you'd see a good atmosphere. There was a lot of noise but not much singing, I think Sunderland's game killing tactics didn't help mind.

Absolutely sick of these non-Saturday-3-pm-kick-offs. I've got hospitality for Arsenal in a box but it's Monday night. Then the next few home matches are all Sunday early doors aren't they?

Anyway, just wanted to check I've not gone clinically insane. I made my biannual visit to the SMB and it's full of posts saying they had a deserved moral victory and are by far classier fans. Wtf? They conceded in the 92nd minute after being hammered for the preceding 50 minutes or so, and got two deserved red cards. We missed a pealty but deserved two more probably. And mixed in with this bizarre 'classier' fan delusion there are posts about wrecking metro's, pushing stewards downstairs, and smearing shit on toilet walls. Apparently I should be gutted the sad twats put Sports Direct bags over their heads as well, and the refereee was biased against them! I mean WHAT THE FUCK? :idiot:

They do it every time, totally forget what actually happened & make up something that suits them whilst holding two contradictory beliefs silmuntaneously.

They are bat shit crazy & it never changes. They've had good form for a couple of months but it's largely been down to massive slices of luck & a very negative style.

Has anyone read the Daily Mail match report today? (I don't buy it, but a copy was lying around work so I had a glace.)

Graham Poll is banging on about how Dean was perfect yesterday. He opens by saying about how Dean was right not to send Cattermole off in the first minute despite him admitting that it was a red card challenge because it would have ruined the match as a spectacle (this would suggest that the rules don't count for the first few minutes). He then has the gaul to say how good it was that Sunderland got a penalty because even though there is no prescedent whatsoever for giving penalties when the ball is going out of play, nowhere near the incident, it was technically a penalty because Williamson tugged the m*ckem bastards shirt. Talk about inconsistent!! He also labels Tiote a playactor and continues to heap praise on Dean.

He clearly watched the match, because he has talked about the incidents, but what is so worrying is that referees think it is OK to pick and choose the rules depending on which team they are supporting. Any neutral who wasn't a blind retard could see that Dean was criminally inept/corrupt/biased throughout the match. Sunderland could have been down to 8 men and we had only one penalty from 5 very strong (certainly much stronger than s*nderland's) penalty appeals.

This makes me angry, because after seeing one of the most plainly biased refereeing performaces in a long time (Dean also ruined our match against Chelsea), three card idiots like Poll are backing him up! This suggests that refereeing in this country needs a complete change; i.e. sack every single Premier League referee (they are ALL terrible without exception), bring in younger and more talented refs and carry out thorough anti-corruption testing. Also, FIFA need a huge amount of pressure to bring in TV replays and a second ref on the pitch along with other measures. Football has long been ruined by this 'old boys club' of shocking refs and needs shaking up.

delighted with his own "celebrity" status nowadays glossing over the fact it was that very cockup that gave him any in the first place

The fact that everyone's talking about the referee and his decisions suggests he's failed. If a referee is fair, consistent and level headed then generally you don't notice them. If the game's all about the referee, his lack of judgement and vanity then they've been poor.

Their first responsibility is to explain to the managers/captains how they're going to referee the match beforehand, I wonder if Dean did that? Might have avoided the 20 minutes of thuggery in the first half if he'd said there would be no tolerance of the sort of challenge we saw from Cattermole after 2 minutes, or Williamson's shirt pulling.

The annoying thing is, the shirt pull was absolutely nothing compared to some of clattermole's tackles, made worse by his constant diving.

True dat. Remember how they "dominated" us at their place earlier in the season despite seeing less of the ball and having fewer shots?

In hindsight it's plain to see that our relegation did more damage to their support than to us. They were cocksure that our demotion was the start of a long period of red and white dominance in the North East but instead they stagnated while we bounced back. They only took a point from their "easy six" against us last season and finished ahead of us by virtue of the fact our players decided to go on their jollies with 45 minutes of the season left. This season has compounded the misery because while they're doing decent enough under O'Neill they still have to come to terms with the fact that their bigger, brighter, more attractive and more financially prudent neighbours who not three years ago were the laughing stock of the entire nation are 10 points ahead of them and currently competing to return to European competition. The longer this goes on the further they seem to slide towards complete insanity. Tinfoil bonnets on their heads (under their Sports Direct carrier bags, of course) while they scream about refereeing conspiracies, the Geordie Mafia and magedia.

Cracking post, spot on the Relegation was 'their time' and it's killed them to have only won once in that time only beating us the once when we got relegated and have since drawn 2 and lost 2. Now like you say we're 10 points above them and it's mauled them they have improved under O'Neill and thought they'll now beat us but again it didn't happen, so now the classyness shite has come about. I think that 5-1 killed them psychologically they were so sure they were 'top dogs' as we'd only been promoted but then they were completely played off the park. The fact Rhys and Songbird have promptly fucked off show this 1-1 has hit them hard again, I think they'd utterly convinced themselves that O'Neill would get them a win.

I've heard rumors of Sessegnon being unhappy and that Spurs and Arsenal are sniffing about, if he goes they've lost their best player by a longshot but again they're oblivious to this and are certain that we've lost Ba.

Never the less it was a clear penalty.

Some of the reporting on this game has been completely pathetic.

Quite a lot of bias towards O'Neill, how is he such a media darling?

Just been speaking to the resident diehard mackem at work for the first time since the derby, he's genuinely seething  He actually got a bit nasty with me, we are a disgrace to football apparently and Pardew should be done for inciting violence! Is this the party line atm? The team who finished with 9 men are holding the moral high ground on how to play the beautiful game?

I hope to fuck we get another 4 points next season or he's going to be insufferable, the old cunt.

maybe, but nobody can get every decision right. I think the main priority for a referee in a match like this is to maintain control and try to avoid stopping the game flowing. From that basis, he had a good game and it is difficult to see how he could have done better. It may be true that Cattermole could have been sent off in the first minute, but this sort of thing happens in a lot of games.

I agree with the comments about Williamson though, while agreeing that it was a penalty, I say this because I think the time is long overdue for refs to start clamping down hard on all this pulling and pushing in the box, which is now totally ridiculous. Start giving more penalties and cards and sort it out.

Some refs would also have gave Tiote a card for diving [if he saw it clearly] - although he was struck [and you can't raise your hands or you rightly get a red card] he made a meal of it which wasn't clear at the time from where I sit but on TV later is obvious.

A draw was a fair result too. We were an utter shambles in the first half but came back well in the 2nd, although we jumped up at the end when Williamson had the ball taken off his toe, which would have really pissed the mackems off no end. Only 5 minutes earlier they thought they were going to win.

I think the fuckwits in the media just like to compliment him becuase he's been to university. Doesn't stop him from being just about the biggest wind up merchant out there (although Pardew is running him close ) A mate reckoned he ordered everyone on the Sunderland bench when they scored on Sunday to run up and down the touchline celebrating like a bunch of teenaged fanboys. Didn't see it myself, but he reckons he used to pull shit like this all the time at Celtic.

Draw was a fair result. I think yous seem to forget that krull made a fantastic save to keep it at 1-0 about 5mins before sessignon was sent off (rightly so although tiote thought about it for a while like) the cartoon army credit(ish) to them battered us for the last 35mins and could have won it at the end. Before the game i would have took a draw so i dinnar where you get that we all expected to win from??? I'm happy that we didnt bend over like the nightmare 5-1

I'm surprised newcastle managed to keep 11players on the pitch as they were equally as naughty with tackles and their general all round twatness... though with a poor excuse for a man like pardew in charge there you go.

well done to ameobi for scoring his 378th goal against us, he is truely an utter c*nt!!! :-/

1. Cattermole should have been sent off with in a minute - it was a red card challenge - that's the rule.

2. McLean should have been sent off for his tackle on Simpson.

3. Sessegnon's was a red card - maybe in super slow motion it worse but Tiote going down wasn't really that bad, it was a red card anyway.

4. If the mackem wants to talk about inciting violence he should look at his own players -

a. After they scored and goaded the crowd

b. After we missed the penalty they wound up the crowd.

5. I can't see any players from our side that should have been sent off and nobody has yet made a case for it.
