Superstitious Habits

What superstitious do you have.

My worst one is when you think of something bad and you dont want it to happen you have to knock on wood. My mother in law once told me that if there was no wood around you could knock on your head instead as "hairy wood is best" whatever the fuck that meant.

However I now do it all the time and I have to do it three times. So if it was something that could happen to any of my immediate family (6) I have to do it 18 times.

I have kindly passed this on to my daughter (sorry) who encompasses even more people in here clique so can sometimes be knocking her head all day

She also does the saluting a magpie thing. Very weird.

Nowt. Judging by your fruitcake family I reckon its just as well. Also won a £10 on the lottery when picking no 13 to prove its bollocks ;)

I wonder if anyone who ridicules the existence of God is superstitious about anything? "Oh, there cant be a God, anyone with half a brain or logic knows that cant be true. Oh, and chuck that salt over your shoulder or something really bad will happen!"

I'm not superstitious by nature but I'll avoid the obvious ones like walking under ladders.

I was taught in Germany that if you don't look someone in the eyes when you clink glasses and say cheers then it's seven years bad sex so always remember to do that just in case.

One of my consultants last year wouldn't let me ventilate a patient with an inspiratory pressure of 13cm of water, I've picked this up and I'm not superstitious about 13 at all - my birthday is on the 13th after all.

I have the touching wood thing, though i have to do it 12 times. Also, sometimes when I'm walking and I'm scuffing my foot i have to even it out. also, my tv volume has to be on an even number too...

I'm a freak.

I may have done that as well. But more when on a treadmill for some reason. No idea why.

If you think that's weird, read Jon Richardson's book "It's not me, it's you". Proper loon for stuff like this.
