Thought the first half performance was an absolute disgrace and we could have been looking at another 4/5-0. The goals they scored were fortunate, but they were carving through us at will, and for a team with European aspirations, turning up for games and not competing isn't acceptable--that's happened on a few occasions now this season. I think Pardew did the best he could at half time, but the players let him down badly today.

We can turn round and point to the other results and the overall season, but in sport you are meant to compete for everything, and play to win every game. That level of performance is just not acceptable for a team of our standing.

Second half we were canny, I thought. First half was a shambles though; the persistence with 4-4-2 with those players on the pitch was daft. Mike Williamson is an absolute fanny as well; shit scared of blocking any shot head on so it bounces off his daft back and over Krul. Thought Marveaux looked really good after the break, very tidy, some nice passing. Everton are a canny team and we barely ever win down there so I wasn't expecting much. Think the scores were getting flashed on the screen down there too which couldn't have helped our confidence.

Again, excuses. The second half performance is not the point, we could have been walking in at half time with another 4/5 goal deficit. That is a disgrace for a team at our current level, and especially given the situation we were in today. The fans were great, the players--with a few exceptions--did not compete, which is what they're paid to do. They should reimburse the away fans for their expenditure today.

Obviously not in the same class before anybody decides to interpret my point that way, but Marveaux's style reminds me a bit of Silva's.

Marveaux's performance was very encouraging. It's just a question of him maintaining his fitness and avoiding long-term injury. He's always looked accomplished in his short cameos, and is capable of delivering quality in the final 3rd: see his assists for Cabaye and for Shola (I think, the cross with his right on the right wing). If he can remain available for us, we can pretend Obertan never existed.

That's not too mad.

Tragic really when WUMs are more amusing for their exceptionally bad spelling and grammar, 1/10 is generous to be honest.

For future reference it's "didn't", not "dident", it should be "driven" not "drove and it's "their", not "there".

I wouldn't want your wit to be wasted just because you're thick as shit. :hi:

Disappointing game. I didn't think we'd win but I thought we'd make more of a game of it. First half was one way traffic. Krul's kicking was dreadful. Noticed jonas kicking off with him a few times for not throwing it out when he was in space. We made a better go of it second half but by then it was too late, not that it would have mattered anyway. The strikers were poor too I thought. Couldn't make it stick up front all game. HBA poor too - shame.

All in all though an amazing season that won't be spilled by a handful of poor away performances. I've been to our four first away says of the season. Might not bother next season with this run!

Delighted that Cabaye clouted a ball boy mind; the French have higher expectations of children's behaviour (& a Socialist President) than the odious Cahill does.

This brother of a criminal needs to be kicked out of the game forever.

Everton's a tough place to go when they're on a roll. Never mind. I'd have taken 5th and EL if it was on offer at the beginning of the season tbh.
