A 26-year-old was arrested after his car crashed near Marlborough, Wilts. Two others, aged 34 and 47 were arrested later in south Wales. The three-year-old girl was abducted from her home in the Rumney area of Cardiff on Monday night. She was flown to hospital and has since been reunited with her family. Her injuries are described as "significant". Superintendent Josh Jones and Detective Superintendent Paul Kemp Police chiefs have described the allegations as 'horrendous' As the three men were questioned in unnamed police stations across south Wales, house-to-house inquiries got under way in the Cardiff suburb of Rumney. She was taken from her home there between 7pm and 11pm on Monday night. The 34-year-old man was arrested first. Police were then looking for a car when colleagues in Wiltshire spotted the L-registered grey Ford Escort going through a red traffic lights without headlights on. They pursued the car along the M4 for about four miles where it left at junction 15 before heading for 10 miles down the A4 towards Hungerford where it crashed. The driver of the car was arrested at the scene. A third man, aged 47, was arrested then in south Wales overnight. Superintendent Josh Jones, Deputy Divisional Commander for Cardiff, said: "This is an extremely rare event which makes it all the more shocking." "Rumney is a close-knit community and we ask the residents to work closely with us in providing any information that they can. We will continue to provide a very visible police presence in the area." Speaking outside Cardiff Central Police Station on Wednesday, Detective Superintendent Paul Kemp said: "The allegations are horrendous and I would urge anyone who has further information to contact us." They are obviously "outside" - I hesitate to use the word mad as that lumps in a lot of perfectly reasonable people. THREE guys going around together attacking small children ................. It is just so far from "normal" I have no conception of them - murder is easy to understand, even mass murder - but this................... Do you really want to cut peoples balls off because they have a chemical imbalance (or similar) in the brain? Would you call yourselves "civilised" if you main/kill people for being ill? Don't get me wrong if these people are fully aware of what they are doing in a cold-blooded, evil, Kray twin type manner them I'm with the rest of you but as I say theres something about paedophilia which screams "sickness" in the true sense at me. People talk of deterrents but if these people are either plain evil or sick as I've defined then the urge will not be quelled by the fact that the last attacker was maimed or killed. On the other hand if someone had these urges and felt they could seek help before acting on them which they'd feel less inclined to do given the usual reaction then that makes kids actually safer which in the end is all that really matters imo. Could anyone on here really do it, and believe me I'm not getting high and mighty about it, I'm considered cold, but I couldn't torture someone (unless it was for enough money, obviously). As I've said before I think the idea of a bullet in the head without ceremony or build up would be quite fair, and I'd gladly pull the trigger myself. I'm afraid something like this would have been very hard to accomplish without the help of the internet, really how do you bring something like this up in polite conversation?
