Hopefully snaps us into gear. Bridge has surprisingly looked very dynamic for them... Maybe testament to Obertans defensive contributions.

That will be asked for 14 years.

Ha. Surely not. Shola has been shit for years and his little brother is a skinnier, dopier more clumsy version. Sammy is mastering the family stroll well

Because its the FA CUP.

It's tricky because you have a strong chance of meeting a better team before the final so winning the thing is a long shot. Since the odds of winning it are long, the expected benefits of beating Brighton is just extra games. This is why every single top flight team does the same to a greater or lesser extent. As teams progress, they put out stronger sides as the expected returns increase. We also have a negative return which is the increased probability of being relegated. All in all, it's perfectly logical and rational to approach the game this way which is little compensation to those desperate to see us end our trophy drought.

AND???

simple either/or question, which is most important to YOU ?? Premier League OR FA Cup

another, which is most important to NUFC?? Premier League OR FA Cup

No point getting into it. I understand your view just don't agree with it. Players can get injured at anytime.

We could get through this and avoid the drop. Into doesn't have to be one or the other.

Agreed!, Pretty sure we would ALL love to see us win an FA cup, but it ISNT gonna be this year is it? Best chance of winning an FA cup in the next 5 years is to ensure we remain in the Premier League, thats an absolute cast-iron fact to me. The TV money increase, added to the fact that we'd lose pretty much every decent player we have if we went down, means (to me anyway) that this tie (and this seasons cup,) pales into insignificance against the rest of the league games.

We're absolutely knackered. Too many heavy touches and laboured passing. Not surprised we're a goal down given everyone looks like they're running through treacle.

Abeid ia looking like a league 2 player, nothing about his game whatsoever.

Williamson costs us defensively time and time again. He shouldn't be anywhere near the first team, he's an utter liability and has let them in several times so far. Thankfully it was only Al-Ebd he didn't track otherwise that was a good shot at 2-0 and game over.

The side is very badly lacking leadership and structure, I guess in some ways to be expected with such an inexperienced side. Shola is isolated, often against two defenders, but rather than utilising the extra space this affords they'll just lump it up to Shola anyway. Abeid in particular has been anonymous, replacing him with Marveaux would make sense if Sammy Ameobi wasn't out there begging to be taken off first. Abeid at least gives the feeling that he has some end product, not sure why.

Completely disagree CT, what's the point in risking players that will be vital to retaining Premier League status, just so that we can possibly book ourselves another game in a cup we are extremely unlikely to get to the Semis in, let alone win??

I know some people that are SO desperate for silverware that they'd be happy to do a Birmingham and get relegated if it meant winning a cup. Baffles me that like!

What a fucking parcel of shit.

Win a cup = Birmingham = relegation
