It's not a bad thing so long as it's no longer the only recruitment strategy (which it obviously isn't atm). Take your point but it seems like a very negative way of looking at it

The only player we've signed who could be termed properly out of our previous remit is Gamez. The rest are all pretty young with potential. The difference is we've got a coach who can almost certainly improve Young players. Hanley is at the moment Seven Taylor with a beard, let's see how he gets on...and how he gets on in the prem if we go up..

The club has clearly been signing players for years on the promise of us being a stepping stone for them to get a bigger move. The fans then get huffed when Gini Cabaye and Sissoko hold the club to their promise and force a move through. Even Watford are better than that these days

I suppose when you're as big a club as they are you can get away without scouting, especially pretty well known players.

True, £35m isn't a whole lot for them. Imagine how much Real Madrid's whingy fan base are going to fucking hate him when they catch on that he's a million miles for their clubs level.
