i wonder why we're the only g7 country not to have reattained its pre-covid level? and why we're the only developed economy, other than sanctioned russia, that the oecd predicts will experience no growth next year. what unique event did the uk experience that the others have not?

I’m struggling here, nothing obvious stands out…

It was consumers panicking about the prospect of a Labour government

What did we do as a country to deserve this Frost cunt btw? Still absolutely stinking the place up with his nonsense opinions despite publicly humiliating himself on a loop every time he opens his gob since 2016.

I seriously hope that there's a reckoning coming in this country for these people that have spent the best part of the last decade gaslighting the public.

Just read that. This lays out plain as day where we are…sometimes it’s difficult to see how poorer we are as a country as a whole but this is a major kick in the balls for anyone still in Brexit denial. Not an overstatement to suggest we’ll be dealing with the fallout for the rest of our lives . What a fuckin mess.

Relatively speaking we're back to where we were before we joined the EEC in 1973. What a coincidence. Problem is the differential will only get worse. Even now though I've noticed much more German tourists relative to Brits in the nicer resorts in Spain than there used to be, and they seem to have more money.

There’s a Brexit bonus then. For the Spanish

BAU tbh. The NI Assembly hasn’t operated for 37% of the time since its creation. The current problem is of course that the DUP campaigned for Brexit, rejected Theresa May’s deal because it wasn’t a hard enough Brexit even though it would have meant no border in the Irish Sea, trusted Johnson to fix it and got completely fucked over leaving them absolutely no way to get out of this corner they’ve backed themselves into.

Do you think the DUP will receive the shame share in the repeat election? If so, fuck you paddies tbh. 😗

Aye, if not increase their vote share a bit. If no one talked about the protocol it wouldn’t be noticed as it doesn’t affect 99% of people but the DUP have weaponised it. Nowhere in their last manifesto did they say they would boycott the Assembly if the protocol remained so they have no legitimate mandate to do so. In fact they welcomed the protocol initially.

They claim their boycott is to put pressure on the EU and British government but the reality is that neither really gives a fuck about them.

That would involve a renegotiation of the Good Friday Agreement which the DUP would never agree to and subsequently would lack legitimacy as they represent over 70% of the unionist seats and given that the assembly is designed for coalition government simply wouldn’t work.
