Marvaeux can at least cross the ball, and therefore provides something that most of the rest of the team, including Cabaye whose set pieces are godawful, cannot.

I've no issue with him, he's a good player. Glad to have him here.

If Marveaux starts against the better teams we'll get hammered - see Man Utd and Arsenal.

Very good footballer but a complete fanny.

Man U Arsenal we didn't have Sissoki, mbiwa, Gouffron, Debuchy etc....

Let's me sensible eh?

Well just look at how we were overun tonight before Pardew changed it around and also Jonas coming on.

Id love it if we could make room for artistes but think they havd to still work - even Ben Arfa has shown that.

I hope Pardew can do the same for Marveaux but he's not there yet imo.

Loving Taylor making me look a cunt. Long may it continue from the brown nosing attention whore.

xx

Every team needs one TBH. He's a blocking specialist to boot, and would be dangerous in set pieces if we had someone who could take them.

I was at the game tonight. Decent turn out in numbers but if half the numbers have one iota of a clue about this great football club I'll be amazed. My biggest pride in my club was the support it generated from it's working class surroundings.

I'm pleased I really am but my pride in my club is civic and historical. There are people in the stands who have replaced a far superior breed in my humble opinion.

Sorry, Chez, I'll bow to your knowledge in certain matters but the crowd tonight on the whole were a fucking disgrace.

In what sense? I'm not saying you're wrong but I'm curious

In the sense that when a chance came to give some vocal encouragement, (not just the odd 'Shoes off etc), when a throw in, a free kick etc, there was not a 'c'mon United' 'ha'way the lads' or a 'fucking get into the bastards' shout just a sitting on your hands saying fuck all approach.

The lack of passion, of actually giving a fuck was palpable for me. I'd liken it to the game against Roma at a similar stage a few years ago. Then there was hunger, tonight there was fuck all. Please dont get me wrong, I'm over the moon we won and would love to stick it up a media who see us as a distinct 'other' in this competition.

Ah ok. It doesn't have to be the way for modern football imo. I'd fucking love a standing section for us as I think with all the loud people in one place would improve the atmosphere a lot.

Well where is this far superior breed? Nobody's stopping them buying tickets. At least the ones you're having a go at are bothering their arse to turn up, unlike your superior breed.

Maybe they've been priced out of attending as regularly as they once did, and now have more loyalty to some boozer with ESPN. Thats where the Premier league and the tv comapnies have placed these folks' former loyalty to the club. Now even as a one off they cant be arsed to turn up and have been replaced by people who tut and whinge if you stand up and try to get behind the team. Changed days. It can be a bit strange going to games nowadays.
