I mean, was the expectation that Russia would hold its hands up and confess? Why does anyone even care. We already kicked their diplomats out, and our government isn't going to take punitive measures against their rich, so who the fuck cares what Putin has to say about it.

Was the Magnitsky act ever passed in the U.K.?

Leaked transcript of a phone call between Putin and the hitmen:

Quote

Vladimir: [about Alexander] So he's having a really nice time?

Ruslan: Well, I'm having a really nice time. I'm not sure it's really his cup of tea.

Vladimir: [after a long pause] What?

Ruslan: You know, I'm not sure it's really his thing.

Vladimir: What do you mean it's not really his thing? What's that supposed to mean? It's not really his thing. What the fuck is that supposed to mean?

Ruslan: Nothing, Vladimir.

Vladimir: It's a fairytale town, isn't it? How's a fairytale town not somebody's fucking thing? How can all those canals and bridges and cobbled streets and those church spires, all that beautiful fucking fairytale stuff, how can that not be somebody's fucking thing, eh?

Ruslan: What I think I meant to say was...

Vladimir: [Interrupts] Is the swans still there?

Ruslan: Yeah, there's swans...

Vladimir: How can fucking swans not fucking be somebody's fucking thing, eh? How can that be?

Though it's perhaps worth noting that the amount of success a Prime Minister has in office appears to be inversely proportional to the degree to which you approve of their appointment

I think Ruth Davidson would have been canny in a few years but she’s ruled herself out.

Well she has been taking dodgy donations so that's perfect form for leading the Tories.

Btw, am I right in thinking 90% of Labour membership is pro remain and most support a referendum? If this is the case, could Kier Starmer launch a leadership challenge and feasibly win?

You're right. 90% back remain, 86% back a second referendum.

It's just like DWP sanctions etc - none of their policies are designed to improve lives, only to reassure their voters that a jack boot is being applied to people they despise.
