There's no way there's 114 Tory MPs who either like him or think he'd be a good PM. It's purely on who can keep them in their jobs at the next election. Absolutely selfish cunts and the last thing I'd expect from a Tory.

Nah, we'll just need to deport the immigrants already here. They'll only be happy when we've secured a future for our white children.

Change UK are now "The Independent Group for Change" because 1 - they were sued; and 2 - they're inept.

Rolls off the tongue. I mean it's not even a functional acronym. TIGC. WTF.

Tbf with the Scotland and Ireland situation, pretty soon the UK will need to change its name too.

Because of course he has. At least they have one more MP now.

In the meantime, here is why our politics sucks.

With a GE likely rapidly approaching, Labour could really do without Corbyn defending Iran like. He's loading his opponents bullets atm

I get why he's doing it, the whole thing is dodgy as fuck, but he must surely know he's going to get pelters for it

Yeah, I found his claims that ‘it was the Jews that facking did it’ to be a little unsavoury.

Yeah sadly that’s the mantra, it’s absolutely appalling.

Blair made life better for a lot of people & won 3 elections by landslides. I’m exhausted listening to people equate Blairism with Thatcherism as well.

Not only is it profoundly stupid & ignorant, it’s also largely pointless and will only cause division.

You can have the nicest politics in the world & labour have had far left socialists before but it matters not if you can’t win an election.

Also - I don’t think there’s a british government in history that wouldn’t have went to war with iraq.

Good post. I thinkany people who slag off New Labour and its achievements don't grasp the context of the time. Thatcherism had fundamentally changed us as a country and permanently moved the pendulum far to the right, which pulled everything else with it. A lot of New Labour would have preferred stronger socialist policies but that door was already closed. As an aside, remember the calibre of politician we had in Blairs cabinet and contrast it with today's. The New Labour years were halcyon days.

Good find. Will share that around a bit.

Have you seen this video where Johnson openly advocates Turkey to join the EU, just a few years before the referendum? Johnson is and always has been one of the biggest europhiles in the tory party. Not that that will get in the way of his naked ambition.

He did indeed. Despite having neoliberal (Thatcherite tendencies) Blair's New Labour did a lot of good.

It's a real shame that after Brown, they failed to oppose austerity, which is now responsible for the deaths of 130,000 people.
