Amazing stuff from the Tories, and that Kay Burley interview was brutal

I notice the Lib Dems seem to think that Swinson herself is a key selling point for them. "Jo Swinson's Liberal Democrats"... fucking ouch. Corbyn could maybe pull that off since he has a cult of personality going, but Swinson is one of the most beige human beings I've ever come across.

Maybe it'll appeal to the equally beige though.

When I worked at Virgin Money, the bank's PR team thought that the CEO was a celebrity. You'd get emails inviting you to an event "chaired by the one and only Jane-Anne". She was a bank CEO ffs and a fucking shit one to boot.

Swinson thing feels the same, although I don't mind her tbf. She was on Matt Forde's Political Party podcast and his week and was alright craic.

Aye, she's not someone I would naturally hate but someone I find incredibly difficult to get enthused about.

Swinson comes across as someone who has never really left the sixth form common room...she just sounds like an over enthusiastic teenager looking after some under 10s..

Aye but tbh that is just a lot of young people in politics, it seems like to. Me. Like on this podcast she talks about how she and her mam would go round leafleting for the full day on a Saturday then get a takeaway and watch Strictly.... And when I hear stories like that I just think wtf man, how could you want to do this with your weekend. I just don't understand how young people end up in politics.

I understand people doing a normal job and looking at what's going on in politics and thinking they want to get into it in their 40s....but to be in your early 20s and heading out handing out Lib Dem leaflets on a weekend ffs.
