So, I see Darlington has won the new Treasury Office bid, beating the cities of Newcastle, Leeds and Bradford for it. Hmm, I wonder which place voted Conservative last election? :scratchchin:

Places like Darlington need the investment more than Newcastle, mind.

Compare the media coverage of Patel to the absolute shit storm over Sturgeon's alleged behaviour. Then ask yourself which is worse.

This government is absolutely rank with corruption and cronyism and barely anyone bats an eyelid. Looking at you @Dr Gloom

The "Starmer = Kinnock" argument looks increasingly persuasive. Enjoy the 1980s, everyone!

I'd settle for that. Kinnock was succeeded by Smith and then Blair after all. Right now I feel I am more likely to see Newcastle win a cup than see these cunts out of power.

Greens ahead of the LDs. That's starting to feel consistent.

And I mean yes, it's fairly clear that Starmer isn't pulling up any trees here. Hopefully he's a good campaigner when the time comes but I suspect stuff like this is just going to throw him evermore into the arms of the 'red wall' voters.

As ever, if you added up all the left/centre left parties (I'll graciously add the LDs to that), we're ahead. Never thought I'd say it but maybe we really do need UKIP back.

I remember reading about that period and wondering why the hell people voted those cunts in four times. Now I’m living through the same and I’m none the wiser.

Regarding Starmer, I honestly just have a pretty hard time trusting anyone with a knighthood that claims to be a socialist. Not that I'm voting Tory. "Sir Kier" is the lesser of two evils but he's still quite clearly a duplicitous cunt.

The similarities are remarkable. Swap Corbyn for Foot, Momentum for Militant, tory bribes in the form of council House sales for stamp duty freezes and help to buy, and the fact that most people in the SE and Midlands are demonstrably cunts  and still are, although that base has expanded further still.

Kinnock wasn't a failure set against that backdrop, he was a reformer who fell just short. I've just come to the conclusion Anglo-Saxons are hard wired to be selfish twats.

Nothing's changed or will ever change.
