no, i don't think he has the power to sack the deputy leader, does he? there was jut a lot of fuss made yesterday when he unveiled the reshuffle while rayner was in the middle of making an address, and apparently wasn't informed it was happening. not the best optics

And yet, classic Labour.

Cooper may be competent but she's also more than happy to go down the Patel Road on immigration.

If/when the tories replace the clown with Sunak and there's not even a piece of A4 between the parties on policy I can't see a way to get enough of a poll gap to win.

I have to say that Merkel has been cool as fuck sometimes and demonstrated it with her choice of music for her military sending off.

She was allowed three songs and picked one from Nina Hagen, the godmother of German punk.

I think @Kid Dynamite referenced a book called Putin’s People a few weeks back, it looked interesting so I downloaded the audiobook to listen to whilst travelling. You know the courageous author Catherine Belton is on to something because Putin’s droogs are queuing up to drag her through the courts, using several eminently unscrupulous city law firms to do so, a ploy she alludes to several times in her book. I’d recommend it, it’s horrifying…

Just looking at him makes me laugh. Then to hear him talk about his exploits in the TA ....

The state of this country that he could even get the gig of local councillor let alone MP is quite something. I notice he couldn't get his book published due to "biased remain publishers" so has self-published. I'll ne amazed if a single person reads it.

In fairness, if I'm representative of publishing as an industry he's 100% right.

I'm yet to meet a Brexiteer publisher and if his book had been submitted to me it would have been right in the bin on principle.

Aren’t books just a pointless waste of resources, though, now that we’ve got the interweb electronical books?

I've never seen the point of buying individual books, I just wait for the anthology.

While I appreciate the sentiment, publishing is currently up to its eyeballs in ebooks and AI assisted workflows ;)  At least in academia which is my focus area anyway.

You are quite right though, touché indeed.

You'd be waiting a long fucking time given the speed of this industry

Clearly I didn't appreciate how culturally significant 'singles' were, back in the 1800s or whenever they were mainstream ;)

My lass at the time was always saying how important 7 inches is before she dumped me.

Mine preferred the Coloured* 12” special release.…

… which apparently has its own category on Pornhub.
