Whatever you think of his politics, benn is a dying breed - a principled politician, great communicator, someone you knew where you stood with. We need more politicians link him again, on all sides.

He got the law changed off his own bat so he could ditch his hereditary peerage because he disagreed with privilege being handed down. The (formerly) Right Honourable Sir Anthony Wedegewood Benn walked it like he talked it his entire life. We''ll likely never see his likes again.

I always found it funny how he changed his name from Anthony Wedgwood Benn to Tony Benn, he removed the fact that he went to Westminster School (top hat 'n aaall) from his biography and cut up rough when anyone mentioned that he'd married serious money
