There's a lot of PR coming out of the club at the moment that's really trying to emphasise how much of a geordie he is and how much he's loving the challenge, trying to get people onside. Could just be to make sure there's no heavy backlash until we're safe though I guess. But Ashley loves a promotion from within. And it was said that they are looking for 'continuity'. And he's cheap, would undoubtedly take cheaper terms than Pardew. And he's already shown he's willing to toe the party line. And, and, and... All depends on how the rest of the season goes. But I bet they'd gamble on him if he manages a survival points per game rate from now on, with it in mind that they can just give him a contract which would be cheap to get rid, hire someone else and have a Sissoko Gouffran Haidara kind of January if we need it to get us out of trouble should the worst happen.
