It's a bad example because of his terrible performances for us, but Anita would never had come through an English academy. He's not physically suited to the premier league (should say English football as we'll probably find out next season he's not good enough for the championship either). Look at the standard of English footballers compared to our counterparts, look at how the English clubs (who need to play an English style to succeed in the league) fare in the Champions league. The amount of pundits etc who go on about Allardyce, Pulis, Pardew being able to keep clubs up when in reality it's shit. They try and justify them getting jobs because they'll do okay and that's it. Once you're an established PL club the amount of money thrown at you makes it relatively easy to remain mid-table with a bit of backing. Then when this is achieved it's made out like these people are top coaches. Give them the job of a top 20 international side (for example) and lets see how good their coaching methods are. He went to Liverpool and failed and hasn't done anything in recent years of note but he gets the job because he' steady. Just look at our expectations going into tournaments, we look to get to the quarters or semis and barely or ever get there. No other big country would look to do that, they all look to win it because what's the point in getting 4th place or whatever. Look at the managers they've got too, Spain, France, Germany etc, all good coaches but we're just happy to be okay and have no desire to be anything better andthe same is happening in the prem.
