Bit quiet at work, so I was wondering;

What's your best 11 in the Ashley era?

Oh, none of this 6 up front like Crooks tries to shoehorn in his team of the week because he's a fucking eggplant in an ill fitting shirt.

Was Faye here under Ashley? I always liked him as a centreback. Probably would have worked well with Colo too. Other than that I would struggle to argue with what Fish has. Other than Given in goal as he's clearly the best keeper most of us have ever seen here.

Van Aanholt only played 7 games.

Yep, but it's hard to fill a team with players who've featured a lot and been consistently shit. van Aanholt gets the nod because I can't think of a specialised Left Back that was worse than him.

Yeah Faye fell out with Keegan affair so that makes him an Ashley era player...the old boy sat behind me back then used to say "eeee he's a big strong lad!" every time he monstered some waif like attacker, which was surprisingly often as you imply.

Given

Radgmaat Coloccini Bassong Enrique

Cabaye Tiote Wiljnaldum

Ben Arfa Ba Remy

Manager - Keegan

Something like that anyway.

Of course this team will be playing fluid attacking football so the ''formation'' if you'd like to call it ''that'' is fairly ''arbitrary''. There are no registas or trequartistas or lads opening cereal Cafe's, just decent blokes who you'd like to go for a pint with.

*Apart from all those lads that left for money/ambition etc.

Gini already in your midfield?

Krul

Janmaat --- the 5th season Coloccini --- Bassong* --- Enrique

Cabaye (when he showed up) --- Tiote (when he was good) --- Sissoko** (when he's bothered)

Ba (the first half of 5th season one) --- Cisse (the second half of 5th season one) --- Remy

*Couldn't think of another decent centre half during the Ashley era. Can't really remember Bassong but I don't think he was shit.

**Could of chosen Gini instead but went for Sissoko because Gini has just joined. Only Sissoko I would have in my team was the one that played his home debut vs Chelsea
