Pavel Srnicek passes away

Recommended Posts

Extremely sad news. One minute he's on Radio Newcastle promoting his book and the next he's died. Unbelievable and tragic. Just goes to show u never know what's around the corner.

Apparently his brother said the singing of his name sent shivers down his spine. Hopefully the club can do something appropriate/some gesture for his family to treasure.

Not much more to say than this is absolutely shit news. I met him as a bairn at the training ground and he couldn't spend enough time with all of us, cracking on with my dad, chatting to me and signing anything you wanted, taking as many photos as you liked. It's my lasting memory of that day.

They were planning on a charity match next summer with the players from "The Entertainers" team before this tragedy occurred. I'm sure that will still go ahead but as a Pav Remembrance Day aswell.

RIP Pavel. I'm truly upset, he's one of the very few people in the game who were absolutely flawless. Lovely gentleman who should've had another 40 or 50 to go :(
