Brian Robinson, first British TDF stage winner.  91 yesterday.  Met him a couple of times at local cycle events. Really nice, honest bloke.

A mate of mine at the 2014 asked him to sign a jersey.  Benard Hinault had signed it already and he laughed and said he would have to do his signature below his as he was well below Hinaults level.

  • Tom changed the title to Yes Gemmill...Ronnie Radford SPECIAL EDITION

Might have mentioned before but years ago before the Internet got really going and brought a practical way of storing digital media files I had the idea of buying the rights to the goal from the BBC to ensure it would  never be shown again. I told this to someone I worked with who said they knew someone who worked for the BBC and thay reckoned it would have been about 50k.

I thought about starting a fundraiser but realised it would be hijacked by mackems and I'd probably be hated for it.

Sorry to say my reaction to the news just now was good riddance.
