Well what a parcel of fuckin shit that was

Their goal was predictably from a set piece, we let lots in pre season like that. Bit toothless up front too, I think there was a slight change straight after half time where Anita and Ritchie swapped sides and we had a big of pressure but Fulham soon snuffed all that out, looked like Jokanovich knew more tha Rafa last night. Thought Hayden had some good touches but faded, as did Gayle and Perez, who for all his apparent talent is becoming a bit of a red herring. Early days though.

Went to Bricklayers Arms for the big TT meet up but @@The Fish failed to show up.....or if he was one of the dreary looking locals loafing around the beer garden then I wouldn't have wanted to talk to him anyway :D

Where were you sat?

David Villa went there at a similar age, wouldn't say that means all the strikers in the championship are better than him

2 years older after winning just everything there is to win with absolutely fuck all to prove and after a broken leg had left him about 75% the player he was. Apart from that though.

Aye and even at 75% of the player he is he's still better than many championship players. Your suggestion that 2 players that have spent the vast majority of their careers playing in lower leagues are better than Taylor who has spent most of his career in the Premier League just because he's gone to the MLS is daft. From what I watched on Friday we've still got big CB issues

The comparison isn't apt because Taylor is, and always has been, shite, whereas Villa was world class before his injury.

And Taylor's spent most of his career injured.

Apart from that though

And at the same time Taylor has played at a higher level than the 3 mentioned.

Shola had a career in the top flight, for the most part, and is one of the clubs most prolific goal scorers in european competition.

He's still shit.

Aye, but he still looked cool eating an apple on a bike so that did make up for his shortcomings.

It wasn't after an injury lay-off, it was because after he bent over and let Shane Long have his way with him Rafa saw him for the fraud that he is.

We're talking about where he is now, or you and Holden McGroin were though. Why would a 30 year old go and play in a shit league on a comparatively shit contract if he thought he could cut it? He knows he's been sussed and has took the easy option. Lascelles looked head and shoulders above him at the back end of last season as well. And his whole NUFC career has been played after an 'injury layoff'. Anyone who rates him is fucking clueless

After an injury layoff and we got relegated. Was on Forests bench before that

Taylor started 5 games up to and including Rafa's first against Leicester. His rare appearances after that say more about his ability than the lack of match fitness he acquired in that run AFTER his injury.

He'll have been devastated to see someone as ordinary as Lascelles come in and take the captain's armband as well mind. He was desperate to talk his way into the captaincy for years.

Carroll broke his jaw because he was a prick too.

Lascelles might not yet be the finished article, and he may never be, but he was a better choice at CB than Steven Taylor. The blame for our relegation certainly doesn't lay at Lascelles door, there's a long list of guilty parties ahead of him in the blame queue.

I liked Shola and he is a bit of a cult figure, but that cult status had people tearing their hair out. Seemed like they felt any support for the gangly legged moron was a tacit acceptance of lower standards?
