Yeah cause they invaded/destabalised/re-invaded/proxy fought 70 countries in 50 years.

Mate there is no comparison. America has 737 bases on foreign soil. It's military budget is bigger than the whole planet combined.

You might as well move to Brighton.

Of course there's comparison, you're just being silly now. Look at the pictures coming out of Aleppo and tell me they're not just as cuntish as the yanks.

My job has involved scrubbing through all kinds of graphic images from Syria in the past few weeks - people missing limbs, kids buried in rubble etc. It's a criminal what they're doing.

Of course its a tragedy and I agree the Russians have been needlessly cruel in Aleppo. In war its always the civilians who get the worst of it. But the Russians and Syrians have liberated many other towns where massive cruelty was being inflicted on the civilians by the Jihadi's inc a rape culture, torture and routine beheadings.

honestly man, if it was the yanks doing this shit right now, there'd be outrage on here. no one would be defending them.

In fairness, I don't ever recall a member of the cabinet berating the US like Boris Johnson did to Russia the other day. That's probably because we were just as complicit as the US in those conflicts.

It's really tough for the UK to take the moral high ground after what we've done.

i'm no fan of johnson, and it was frankly bizarre of him to make that suggestion, but i think he's labouring to the same point. there really isn't anything he can do about it, but if it was us and the yanks massacring innocent civilians, the stop the war coalition would be out in force.

I'm to defending it just bringing some balance. NATO/Coalition did far worse in Iraq for ages.

Which would you be most angry about? One of your own family acting the cunt or the charvers down the street?

Well it makes considerably more sense to petition your own government to not fight in a war. It might not work but at least you have the power to vote against them etc.

As an aside Russia should be judged (harshly) by the way it treats its own citizens.

Aye  And when its USAF bombing UN flagged hospitals (for half an hour or more), its just error.

When it comes to Syria though all parties have serious blood on their hands. Its a complete disgrace. Assad and Russians bombing civilian areas to US and allies backing what is essentially ISIS and the like. A little read into what the militants were doing when they took Aleppo

Not that what Assad has been doing is much better mind. Like I said complete disgrace on all sides.

I don't think we do give the Russians an easy time mate. I think we're generally all agreed that they're deplorable in some of the actions they take. The thing is, I can remember a number of arguments on here where people have defended our foreign policy as part of discussions on terrorism, so people do take sides on that issue as well.

I said a few weeks ago that our establishment already identifies Russian cruelties. It doesn't identify its own. We need to do that - and that's what 'lefty liberals' try to do. There is no subtle pro-Russian bias man.

The only people I've come across who are pro Russia are those who actually hate the yanks.

I'll start a petition on 38 degrees strongly condemning their behaviour if you all promise to sign it.

only if you include some copy that is suitably self righteous at the top of the page. that might go some way to levelling the playing field.

The biased media thing applies generally everywhere though. Saudis bombed a Yemeni funeral a few days back killing well over a hundred. It was barely highlighted in the muslim media because Saudi's are considered some sort of holy custodians of Mecca and can do no wrong. There'd been a raucous if that was Israel and Palestine.
