Monkeys Fist 7,397
It’ll be interesting to see how the Biden inauguration ceremony goes ahead in the wake of this, and the need for it to be Covid-safe. Frankly, I’ll be amazed if it is still held on the steps of the Capitol as is usual.

Rayvin 1,333
The Guardian has Priti Patel quoted as saying this: The UK home secretary, Priti Patel, said Donald Trump’s incendiary remarks directly provoked the violence witnessed in the US Capitol as she urged him to condemn it. “His comments directly led to the violence and so far he has failed to condemn that violence – and that is completely wrong,” she said. She said the departing president’s statement, in which he said “we love you” to the rioters, and repeated his unproven claims of electoral fraud did “very little to de-escalate the situation”. “He basically has made a number of comments yesterday that helped to fuel that violence and he didn’t do anything to de-escalate that whatsoever,” she told BBC Breakfast. Which is perhaps a little closer to the kind of thing you might want a UK politician to say about the matter, but still doesn't go far enough.

It’s a wholesome design for his local canoe club- sculling is a paddling technique, using a paddle, hence the skull and cross-paddles. The 3rd Herrliches Reich Kanutruppen group are simply an outdoors loving bunch of canoe-enthusiasts, who hate Jews and black folks.

That probably refers to the sign that was displayed at the Auschwitz camp entrance. It has become a popular slogan amongst anti lockdown clowns

The Fish 813
Any further news on the rumours that Pence might invoke the 25th Ammendment? Would Trump lose the 'President' honorific if he was removed from office? That, being blocked on twitter and having a mugshot without the fake tan and his hair styled might tip him over the edge. ewerk 6,499
I can't see it happening. Would there be 2/3 support in the House and Senate for it? Also, would it preclude Pence from carrying out two terms in the future or completely obliterate his chances of nomination?

Tom 3,136
19 minutes ago, Rayvin said: Actually no, I'm not - maybe that would explain this. What is it? “Work Will Set You Free” was a slogan used above the entrances to concentration camps. (As above) Except it didn’t & it was merely a cruel trick specifically targeting Jewish inmates. The Germans, a largely agricultural nation at the turn of the century couldn’t understand how Jewish people accumulated wealth without sweating for it. So anti Jewish propaganda & conspiracy theories about them running the world & being in line with commies etc were easily digested by the German people, who had to work hard post WW1 but were still desperately poor, especially in light of the terms of the Versailles treaty. (Which they believed was overseen by Jews) I visited Dachau memorial site just outside of Munich and the stories were horrific. For a work related “story” - German officers would regularly gather groups of Jewish prisoners and March them off to a corner of the site. They’d order them to start digging & obviously having seen the sign the Jewish lads worked their arses off and shifted tons of soil. At the end the Germans told them to fill the hole back in & it’s back to the barracks. “work will set you free”

Quick answer is no one is sure, as it’s never happened. Nixon resigned, before he was removed, so technically got to keep use of Mr. President. Other titles include “Honorable” which isn’t exclusive to Presidents, but he’d likely keep the use of it- I also think, judging by the tone and words used by Pence when announcing Biden’s confirmation, that using the 25th wouldn’t be as unlikely as some think it is. I thought he lost it? That's mental. Did he still get a Presidential Library? Speaking of which, will Trump's just be a strip mall with a Trump-Merch store, a Burger King, and a casino/strip club. 6 minutes ago, ewerk said: That's for him to become acting president, it then has to be ratified in Congress to stick. Gemmill 2,825
That is like something out of a wacky comedy. "We were storming the Capitol, it's a revolution!" She can barely conceal her contempt for the stupidity of his question. Honestly if I knew her I'd mace her on a daily basis for more of this entertainment.

Ford gave him a full pardon, which, combined with him avoiding impeachment by resigning, means he still kept the Mr. President bit. I think
