The PL is simply a more competitive league than what he's used to - that may well be because the teams in it share a similar level of shiteness, but either way, that's his big problem. He just doesn't look like he enjoys it tbf. Plus, Tiki Taka was never going to be improved post-Barcelona. He'll never work with a team of players that good again. They dont have the time in this league a lot of the time. Kompany and Zabaleta have been their best defenders of recent years and they are both coming up to being finished. They also both joined before the current owners. Since then it's been managala, Otamendi, Clichy, Stones etc. The midfields not there either though, Fernando, Fernandinho and Toure aren't of the quality to do what he'd want from them, especially now Toure is getting on a bit, Gundogan is an excellent player but he's made of glass. You're suggesting the only possibility is that he doesn't see it intellectually though. The other, more likely scenario, is that he's too much of a purist, too stubborn, to actually want to adapt. Slumped in his seat yesterday staring at his shoes at three down. He's basically saying everything is wrong with the English game as if he never watched any PL before he came here.
