Fucking crap performance that. Perez wants a slap for totally bottling that one on one ffs, his head was on a pivot from the start trying to see if there was anyone he could pass too rather than just having a go.

Nervous the FA might pull Shelvey over that kick out.

Well that was fucking annoying. Does Darlow shout for it? Clark has had a propensity for scoring own goals throughout his career.

Going to take the unpopular opinion of sticking up for Perez. For the Ritchie incident, by the time he gets ahead of the defenders he's offside. Wasn't a great finish but could have sneaked in. For the second one, he's got Ritchie's strop in his head which is why he drags it across. BTW, we wouldn't have had the second chance without his industry to win the ball back.

We're nowhere near certain to go up, like I said earlier today. We needed to strengthen and Ashley closed the wallet. Got to just push on now. It's going to be tough because teams like fucking Leeds are pulling out late winners against the odds when we are fucking up.

He's been shit for a couple of years now.

Perez has been wretched for his entire time in the Championship. To be honest we got more than we deserved. We were dire and in no way look like a title-winning team. Mbemba surely can't be worse than Lascelles/Clark, we need to get him back in ASAP.

It's plain there was no Gayle plan B and it's costing us. No Shelvey plan B either. More "cross our fingers" planning from our football genius.

We were all over them in the second half especially after we scored. Had more than enough chances to make it 3-1 and put the game to bed.

Maybe we deserved a point for the first half performance but the second half? How have we got more than we deserved?

Perez missed two one on ones. Not good enough.

Goyffran was unlucky not to score.

The worst thing about tonight isn't the dropped points - it's we'll be without shelvey for another 3 games.

BTW, anyone who's writing off Reading - their next three fixtures:

Ipswich A

Barnsley H

Brentford H

By contrast, we've got:

Derby H

Wolves A

Norwich A

Followed by Villa and Bristol City at home, then that horror week with Brighton, Huddersfield and Reading ALL AWAY.

We are getting worse as time goes by and Reading, Leeds, Derby, Huddersfield are closing the gap on us due to our poor performances.

We were second best in the first half and not that much better in the second.

If you want to blame anyone, blame the ones who kept making mistakes, not just Perez.

If we get promoted, and it's now a big if, Lascells is not the man for us, bring back Mbemba.

Gouffran isn't either.

Pity about Clarke's own goal, perhaps Darlow should have come out quicker or stayed on his line.

Perez is completely lost playing behind the striker. He cant find space and cant create anything.

Gouffran didnt do a thing all game. Ritchie put him to shame wanting to get on the ball everytime and looking to win us the game no matter what wing he was on.

The defence was all over the shop tonight too. Sending nerves throughout the players and the fans.

I didnt get chance to watch this, but reading through the thread from the beginning (without knowing the result), it was almost inevitable that we weren't going to get a win. Whats happened? Has Rafa ran out of ideas? Are the players just not good enough for his ideas to be put into practice on the pitch? Lets just imagine we scrape auto promotion, do we honestly believe that with a couple of signings we are going to be good enough to survive in the prem? We've been lucky with Gayle firing so many this year but without him, we're toothless. When Sammy comes back and gets a game, you have to wonder!

No it wasn't. I was feeling pretty comfortable for the last portion of the game till the own goal. They'd run out of steam and we looked the more likely to get a third to wrap the game up. It's not like one of their players was going to get his head till the ball if Clark didn't, either.

I've followed NUFC for long enough to know that fortune hardly ever favours us. :D
