Not sure why 5 subs is being extended to

next season. Suits the likes of Liverpool and City who have 18 first teamers to rotate. Not so much us with Muto and Astu on the bench

You answered your own question there. That’s exactly why

Wouldn't have a huge issue with it if there were also restrictions on who you could name for the bench. Certain ratio of young lads must be included? Something to sort-of level the playing field?

As it stands it's a massive fuck you to clubs without £100m of talent waiting for their 15 minute cameo.

Aye but I guarantee you the young lads that the top six have are better than ours.

Don't disagree, but the difference between our first team and City's kids is smaller than with their second string of full international £40m players.

Did you forget we had a £40m player on the bench last night? ;)

No, but I was talking about worth, not cost.

I know the television studios don’t give a fuck, but the lack of knowledge and amount of ignorant comments the pundits make about the clubs outside of the “Big 6” (or however many of them there are now) is absolutely fucking pathetic.

The fact Paul Merson has been paid for years to give his opinion on football should tell you all you need to know on that score.

It's always amused me that for the sheer amount of money Sky spaff on getting the football, they seem utterly incapable or unwilling to get some decent pundits in the studio

Their cricket coverage is superb. Great commentary, analysis and summarisers. The films they show on the lunch breaks could be documentary series in themselves. But for football it just seems to be the same old jobs for the boys

Journalism is dying on its arse, the quicker people realise mongs like Edwards are fighting for views/page hits and ignore him the quicker he goes away.

Arguably people get the pundits they deserve, in football at least. I suppose these are the people that the average fan would want to stand beside in the pub while they watch a match on the telly (however Sky figure that out). Personally I would want to bring a bottle down on the head of Merson. Followed by several extravagant kicks to the testicles.
