"The Premier League has now been provided with written assurances that the Saudi state will not interfere with the running of the club and that only the PIF will be involved in Newcastle operations along with minority shareholders. Any breach of that undertaking could lead to directors being suspended.

The minority shareholders are set to be Amanda Staveley’s PCP Capital Partners, who will have a 10 per cent stake in the club, with the other 10 per cent going to property developers Simon and David Reuben. Staveley is still expected to be given a role at the club, at least in the short term."

ReadyTogo saying we'll be shopping in the same bracket of players

What, as them?

I suppose insofar as that bracket is expanded to include all vaguely humanoid lifeforms, that may be possible. Still not guaranteed with Sunderland though, they do like their local born players.

Just had a look on RTG. If you drew a Venn diagram of the Mackems who say they wouldn’t want the Saudis owning their club, the ones who partied like it was 1999 when the deal fell through last year and the ones who hero-worshipped Paedo Johnson, it would be a perfect circle.
