Not saying it’s right but when did anyone that matters last give a fuck about questions asked by a select committee?

The DCMS pretty much found out that the whole of Team Sky and British Cycling (track cycling Gold medal winner darlings, funded by lottery money) were all juiced up to fuck and fuck all was done.

Why haven you mentioned this before? ;)  It’s not just this particular select committee either though. Life and death shit and it barely makes the news sometimes

Didn't Ashley get hauled in front of a select Committee? How'd that impact his business practises?

All the noise and theatre is just a distraction from the actual issue; Premier League want as much assurance as possible that their intellectual property will not be pirated. If that means the KSA need to organise a bid for the MENA rights, arrest a few patsies and make inconsequential promises, then so be it.

PL aren't looking for a reason to block it, they have those, in spades, they're wanting to use this leverage to get a better deal.

That’s my reading of it. Along with the Saudis and the PL being in constant dialogue about what needs fulfilling from the former’s side of things. The idea they are taking all these steps with no idea about the outcome is ludicrous. Plus I think that of all this goes through they’ll be even more determined to make the club a success.

Yeah if they felt it was insurmountable they'd have sacked it off ages ago. To be honest any decent counsel would have advised them before the bid that a) the rights issue would be complicated, 2) the WTO report would be damaging and iii) there'd be a lot of Human Rights noise surrounding the bid. If that didn't dissuade them from bidding then the delays and attention won't either.

Not sure I share your optimism for their determination mind. Honestly think they'll be unmoved by this, unless our club comes up against a Qatari owned club any time soon.

Wonder if BeIN will choose not to broadcast our games should the takeover go ahead.
