saw this in another place, some fair points...

Hold the fuckin bus here. Southampton sell 80% of their shares at £210m. With a £30m training complex and a conveyer belt of huge player sales? Latest being Van dijk (75m). Everton sell 50% of their shares at £85.5m making them worth £171m. Everton a premier league ever present. So how are Nufc worth £300m+? Relegation twice in 6 years and a squad of championship players. Hrmc case hanging over    the club. Our transfer record sits in 2005 while every other club has broken theirs numerous times. The club is and has been shambolic under Ashley’s ownership. Why would anyone regardless of funds overpay to pay for the previous owners mistakes. Doesn’t make sense.

Some very good points there.

The price for Everton was from 2 years ago. Everton have more debt than us and it needs to actually be paid down. They have a shite stadium that they've been planning on knocking down for ages and they live in the shadow of their red neighbours. Their playing roster is vastly superior (including their youth setup) but they're behind in just about every other respect, excluding board.

Yeah, what I posted isn't the only way way to look at this. I think as a rule of thumb us not being worth anywhere near 400mill is ok though.

31st January the next home game should be boycotted, none of this support the team not the regime bollocks. Ashley doesnt support the team, the manager, the club, the fans, or the city. An empty ground for the entire game will send him a clear enough message.

Season tickets are already paid for. Even if a few thousand stayed away, like those who chose to walk out in protest a while back, it’ll change precisely fuck all.

This is how I see the situation. It’s a typical Ashley play. He’s getting desperate, trying to force the issue - all he wants is a bigger bid. We’re very much still for sale, with PCP the most likely buyer. So not a lot has changed.

It makes sense. He's told them that he wants a higher bid and none has been forthcoming so he's ended talks (not that talks seem to have been happening recently). Ball is in PCP's court. He'll still listen if they come back offering more.

Can't really see Amanda giving a response tbh Ashley's just about called them liars ( no bid from PCP) & a waste of time. They'll probably go on to huy a different club & bank roll as if to say this is what could have happened. A bit like Man City's owners. In fact & here's the kicker they may offer Rafa the managers job.

My understanding is an offer was on the table and Staveley was waiting for Ashley to respond to the offer after his holiday. So not a lot had changed since before Christmas. Then he comes back from his holidays, leaks the story about the other bidder then this to Sky. Still waiting to hear what Staveley makes of it.

honestly, there's no reason to assume this is over yet. this is the way our maverick owner does business - it really shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.  he wants out, that hasn't changed. if stavely ups her offer a deal is still there to be done. whether that happens or not remains to be seen.

The main appeal of PCP buying us was to get rid of Ashley. They're an investment fund. Even if they did buy, there is no chance they were going to throw money around like the lunatics who own City. Sure we may well have spent more and have been generally better managed, but it would have been a slow build over 5 years quite possibly with a view to selling on again at the end for profit.

Amanda's not stupid she knew what she was dealing with regarding Ashley. It's the way he's done this in the public domain.  I honestly can't see her saying "Mike seeing as you've called us liars & time wasters in public we'll up our offer" :D

I'm ok Gloomy i've prepared myself for this im ready for Rafa going & relegation anything that will cost the fat bastard lots of money

my honest view of this is

1 - the takeover isn't over yet, despite last night's story.

2 - rafa won't go anywhere until the end of the season, whatever happens between now and then

3 - we have a reasonable chance of survival, mainly due to the manager still being here

even if that turns out to be true - and it isn't clear yet whether this investment is stavley/pcp alone, or whether she is backed by one of her many wealthy friends in the middle east - it has to be preferable to the last decade under the cockney chancer.

Yeah but you're looking at this as if it was a discussion between two average people on the street. There are millions at stake here, all she will care about is the money. She's not going to walk away if she thinks she can get a good outcome for her fund. She will have far thicker skin than that.
