Howmanheyman 1,682 Report post Posted December 31, 2017 We've a limited squad, he has to get the maximum out of them all for us to stay up. He plays the same eleven game after game like Pardew did with better players then they burn out/get injured more/get more bookings or get complacent like Colo and co did. He's playing the long game because he needs to. Anyway, there's not exactly any superstars on the bench he's holding back is there? Our squad is much of a muchness and nobody is guaranteed a spot. There was a few underperforming yesterday but we were two good saves away from a win. Rafa will make mistakes as he's not a God but you just have to trust the most qualified bloke we're going to get anytime soon to do his job as he must be as anxious as us to get in a proper owner and board to sort the playing staff out. If we go down this year the person who takes the flak is the same cunt who relegated us the last two times.

Anorthernsoul 506 Report post Posted December 31, 2017 We're clearly not good enough to defend so you play positive and try and win the game, hardly rocket science. Negativity breeds mediocrity.
Howmanheyman 1,682 Report post Posted December 31, 2017 I'd say we're considerably better at defending than attacking tbh. Man U and Chelsea away was great to watch for the spell we had going at them but we conceded seven goals. Teams like Brighton set up similarly and try to catch us on the break and we struggle with this. We sometimes struggled a bit last year in the championship against sides doing this so the same tactic with better players using it against basically the same NUFC players is probably why we're still struggling with it. Watford aren't Barcelona but they tore us apart on the counter attack so you can see why he plays it cautiously iyam.
