It may not have been an intentional strike to the face, but I'm saying that all the other teammates have seen in a big thug of a bloke apparently come into contact with Gayle's face. They'll obviously launch to his defence, and also try and get the defender sent off. Despite what Goodman says.

Exactly, what a faux-pompous shite talking knob. What are they supposed to do, stand where they are and reason that he probably only meant to push him in the chest?(which is just as much of a foul anyway). They're clearly rattled, second best at home to an unrated side.

Discussion on Shelveys temperament being a reason not to select him, moments after the very average, lumbering centre half who was selected for England completely lost his head

It looked a penalty in real time, I was shocked it wasn't called. On review Mahrez looked a gift horse in the mouth and fell over.

According to the letter of the law it doesn’t matter it the player is already going down. The ref has got that and the shove spot on.

Stop being reasonable, Maguire has to be off and Mahrez should've been booked.

I won't disagree with the shove itself, but the aftermath wasn't spot on.

Really good first half, haven’t given them a sniff, had some good chances and got a goal, for their CB wound up and booked, and the fans growing in frustration and getting on the refs back.

Apart from the ball into the channel these offer little threat. You have to admire our work rate these days, Rafa has them wanting to win every ball. We dominated the ball for the first half an hour, we need to do it again 2nd half.

I like Kenedy, we've no one else in the squad who plays the way he does, the flick to buy some space on that counter was ace.

Two clear fouls on Kenedy there, neither called and they easily could have scored in the aftermath. Getting all the home town calls this half.

Kenedy for Atsu leaves us short defensively. Think Kenedy must have been hurt by getting crushed and then kneed in the head.
