Machinist - unreal physical transformation from Bale. He looked on death's door. Enjoyed the use of blue-grey filters. Added to the effect of seeing the world through his eyes as he lost his mind 7/10.

The green room - enjoyable popcorn horror/thriller. Good turn from Patrick Stewart. 6/10

Bad neighbours - typical Seth Rogen fare. If you like him, you'll like this. 5/10

I thought Green Room was one of the best Horrors I'd seen in a while, but I love the genre and watch everything that scores 5.5 or better on imdb, so I'd probably give it a 7.5.

Hunt For The Wilderpeople.  Another gem from the guy that directed What We Do In The Shadows.  Sam Neil is excellent but the fat kid is even better.

Swiss Army Man.  Really weird film with Harry Potter playing a corpse that helps Paul Dano by farting, getting a hard on and spewing water.  I quite enjoyed it.

Caberet.  I'd never seen it before and thought it might be a musical that could be more to my tastes.  It wasn't really.

A Flock Of Dudes.  I don't really know why I watched a film with a title as bad as this but it was ok.  Pretty lightweight comedy about a guy who decides to 'divorce' his mates.  Bit of an odd, completely pointless, cameo from Ray Liotta at the end of it too.

I watched that last night. Laughed out loud a few times. Ultimately not as good as the IMDB score but I enjoyed it.

Still blaming Labour for the financial crisis?

Even more so. The film demonstrates how the banks, rating agencies and governments were all cosy'd up together when this was going on and didn't give a fuck.

Should have sold the gold and bought shorts.

Didn't find it a bore fest at all and really enjoyed the the part played by the funny guy in God Almighty.

Should have sold the gold and bought shorts.

Didn't find it a bore fest at all and really enjoyed the the part played by the funny guy in God Almighty.

The shorts against that type of financial product didn't exist before Michael Burry had them made for him by either Deutsche Bank or Goldman Sachs, that is the level to which people didn't see this coming. So to say the Gov't fucked up by not buying shorts is akin to saying a bloke fucked up by picking the wrong lottery numbers.

It's a good film like and it does a good job at giving a high level explanation of some of the terms and products they talk about.

If you really want to blame the Gov't CT be advised this whole thing is starting to emerge again with sub-prime car loans. Of course this wouldn't have the massively devastating effect the Mortgages did but it shows how common this sort of stuff is.

Bottom line is the government(s) knew it was a bubble that was unsustainable. What they didn't know was when it would go pop or how severe the consequences would be. They chose not to listen or investigate and allowed it to continue.

Guilty.
