Hearts and Minds

Peter Davis' Vietnam War documentary. Really powerful film. Thought the juxtaposition of the attitudes of those who served in the war and the reaction of the Vietnamese laymen who bore the brunt of the American assault was very striking.

I was lucky enough to see City Lights [Charles Chaplin - 1931] at All Tommorows Parties over the weekend. completely wonderful.

and I just watched Grave Of The Fireflies [isao Takahata - 1988], which is probably the strongest animation film i've seen but a little sentimental at times for me. still extremely powerful though.

The Running Man.

"I live to see you eat that contract, but I hope you leave enough room for my fist because I'm going to ram it into your stomach and break your god-damn spine!"
