Thompson 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2006 (edited) Reet Ladys and Gents, can anyone remember a film - early/mid 90s, which started off with 2 people in a bedroom and something appearing to go up the stairs with the intention of murdering these 2 unsuspecting characters. Midway through this scene, the film cuts into an American news flash about an Asteroid hitting a ski resort and it stays with this storyline for the rest of the film... Sorry about the crap description but it's driving me mental. I watched it on Sky years ago - i was probs about 6-7 so thats around 95ish... Anyone know the title? muthaf***in toon lover 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2006 The film "Meteor" has an asteroid (not a meteor strangely) hitting a swiss ski resort, but that film is a little older and its not at the beginning. Any help?
Thompson 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2006 (edited) I dont think it was a high profile film... The news report bit was meant to be a report interrupting the film, but it was just part of the film (to make the veiwer think this was really going on). Im sure the title had something about an Alien in it, maybe the asteroid was a spaceship hitting the ski resort. Edited February 5, 2006 by Thompson
adios 271 Report post Posted February 5, 2006 A television program is interupted by a news network announcing that three meteors have hit the United States, France and China. At first it seems natural but after interviews by scientists and eyewitness seems to suggest that it is not. Three more meteors are coming and the various Earth governments combine forces to stop them. Presented in the format of a live TV-news broadcast, the film tells the story of three asteroids crashing in the Midwest, in France, and in the Gobi desert. When a fourth asteroid is sighted coming in over the North Pole the Air Force shoots it down, only to suddenly realize that three more fireballs are heading towards Washington D.C., Moscow and Beijing. As scientists speculate that the asteroids were intentionally sent by alien beings to communicate with earth, the military manages to shoot down the other three fireballs, only to discover that thousands more are now on their way... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111735/

adios 271 Report post Posted February 5, 2006 Broadcast 11 years after a similar program, Special Bulletin, Without Warning starts in an identical fashion, with the beginning of "regular programming", in this case the opening of a murder mystery film with the title Without Warning, starring Loni Anderson (appearing in a cameo). Within moments, however, the program is interrupted with a news bulletin of an explosion in Wyoming. The "movie" resumes but a few moments later is interrupted for good as coverage begins of a Halloween night meteor impact on the United States. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Without_Warning If that doesn't do it, someone will have to watch the movie for you!
