Ashley will make promises.

Rafa will compromise.

It's not a win-win situation.

It'll still be unsolved ,  Rafa may walk and end the current fiasco,  which will create a new one.

£50m net spend. Is that even enough to compete these days?

Given we have a net spend of £1mil pa over the last 3 seasons, there's no chance we will get £50mil net spend.

More likely we will sell Shelvey, Perez and Hayden for £50mil+ and Rafa will get that to reinvest. Clark, Joselu, Elliott, Diame, Kenedy all likely leaving the squad too so we will be looking light on numbers

It’d be a shame to lose the first three, as well as potentially Rondon. Not too arsed about the second lot. Kenedy was a big let down after last season.

How much did he make transferring the Strawberry Lane land owned by the club into his own name and selling it off?

I’d like to see a list of the non-football assets the club had pre-Ashley, and a current list of what’s left.

If @Happy Face can be arsed :D

He made £9m selling Strawberry Place. Which is fuck all in the grand scheme of things but greatly restricts our ability to extend the ground.

Short termism at its absolute worst.

‘Secret location’ is just a sexy way of saying they don’t know where the meeting is at.

Newcastle managing Director Lee Charnley has been tasked by owner Mike Ashley to lead negotiations with Benitez, Sky Sports News understands.

If I was Rafa & his agents I'd feel insulted that Ashley hadn't deemed this important enough to bother turning up. Instead sending that slimy little toad instead.
