If anyone who watched that game reckons it was a worse performance than a load of Rafa's games then they are lying to themselves. We missed Richie and it's to be hoped that ASM can bring a bit of creativity, but Hayden and Longstaff look a decent pairing, the back 3 have picked up where they left off last season and Willems & Krafth both looked good going both directions.

 

If Carroll or Gayle had been fit to come off the bench we probably would have won that in the last half hour. They rarely got out of their own half

Watford were terrible and yet we didn't win. No point in arguing over your interpretations of games under Rafa. You could cherry pick loads of games where the performances were subjectively worse but this would have been a match that Rafa targeted for 3 points. Bruce did as well, of course. I'd say in terms of personnel played it was fine, it was the players that didn't perform and win the game.
