Saturday sees Newcastle face League One side Rochdale in the Third Round of the FA Cup, in what will be the first-ever competitive meeting of the sides.

Why the odd start time? The FA explain....

All Third Round ties will be delayed by one minute to encourage fans to ‘Take A Minute’ to think about looking after their mental health, as part of the Heads Up campaign.
It is hoped that the initiative will raise awareness of the importance of looking after our mental health, with 60 seconds representing just the first step in the journey to improved wellbeing.
During the minute delay, fans will be encouraged to consider the positive impact 60 seconds can have on their own well being or in supporting a friend or family member. 
The Magpies were allocated the Reside Estate Agency Stand aka Willbutts Lane Stand (pictured above), running the length of one touchline. 

The winners of the tie will take their place in the Fourth Round draw, scheduled for Monday night during the BBC's coverage of Arsenal v Leeds. 
NUFC: Following the loss to Leicester, Newcastle have injury doubts over no less than 11 players.

Ciaran Clark, Paul Dummett, Ki, Jamaal Lascelles, Javier Manquillo, Allain Saint-Maximin, Matt Ritchie, Fabian Schar, Jonjo Shelvey, DeAndre Yedlin and Jetro Willems are all thronging the sick bay.

Steve Bruce said on Friday that Ritchie was on course to make the bench.

This this our first official competitive fixture against Dale, the only previous meeting a two-legged War Cup tie during the 1940/41 season, United losing 1-2 on Tyneside but winning 3-1 in Lancashire.

Rochdale's FA Cup involvement this season began in the First Round with a 0-0 draw at Wrexham and a 1-0 home win in the replay. That was followed by a scoreless home draw with Boston before their 2-1 victory at York Street.

Featuring in that Second Round replay success was 40 year-old striker Aaron Wilbraham, who netted for Bristol City in a 2-2 Championship draw at SJP back in 2017.

Rochdale will become the first third tier side to face us since Oxford United in 2017, when we perished 0-3 at their Kassam Stadium.

That was the 23rd time that we've lost in the FA Cup to a lower league side since World War 2.

PS: Courtesy of @FACupFactfile comes the staggering fact that despite entering in the First Round on each occasion, Rochdale have made more appearances in the FA Cup Fourth Round (4) than Newcastle (3) over the previous six seasons.
