I've defended Bruce before but this is something else today. Taking your striker off for a centre half when you're 2-0 down

Because any of our centre halves are better goalscorers than he is?

 It's as funny as it is worrying.

I was thinking about making a sarcastic remark about it when it got posted...

I also thought about making a joke about the game not being over when we were 2 down as there was still enough time to strike lucky...

saturday?

except we got three.

:icon_lol: In fairness I did say point, but I take yours. In all seriousness though we might have been shite going forward against Chelsea but we were at least solid at the back. Lascelles in particular had a shocker at the back tonight. So to summarise, we were shite at the back and going forward, for the vast majority of the match, but still nicked a point.

Joelinton is never getting any better is he :(

Nope, he seems to flatter to deceive occasionally but it is amazing how bad he is at the basics - controlling a ball, 5 metre passes, not getting pushed off the ball.

He doesn't seem to be able to play with his back to goal either which is important for a striker/forward who isn't blessed with lightning pace.

And none of those things are "confidence."
