Howay 2,163
He just comes across as either someone that knows fuck all about football, or a bloke who is deciding to do nothing but antagonize and troll the fanbase of the club he covers. Yes, football is a results business but performances do become an indicator over the long term, you can’t consistently expect to get by scoring fluky late goals like we have with one of the few shots we manage each game. It’s also total fucking dross to watch, and if you’re not successful i.e. winning things which Bruce isn’t going to be doing, it’s not going to go over well with a fan base. This is a Wolves team promoted after our last promotion, one that’s way overrated in the press, and one I’m not going to get excited about drawing with in that fashion, and after a performance as limp dicked as that one. Edwards is a fucking loser who has a pathetically low expectation for what he deems acceptable, call us deluded but we shouldn’t be accepting this type of shit show on the basically weekly consistency we are seeing it now. Alex 5,592
Funny how it’s ok for him to argue we were unlucky against Man Utd but all of a sudden it’s a results-based business when it’s a more positive outcome

Totally agree with all of this. It's one thing to play so deep that the opposition can't get past you and are limited to shots from outside the box, but if you can't retain or do anything progressive with the ball when you do get it, you are eventually going to get caught out like we were yesterday and last week. Then you are just hoping for fluky goals. That isn't a way to set your team out, it isn't sustainable and it's awful to watch. Comparing it to the worst of it under Rafa doesn't wash either. When Rafa was finally allowed to sign the attacking players he wanted, he had us attacking with a plan and the players looked like they all knew what they were supposed to be doing. Yes we've lost Rondon and Perez but we've now replaced them with Wilson, ASM, Frazer, Joelinton and Carroll. We're actually better off and have the same players available to play behind them yet we have no idea whatsoever how to move the ball forward with any conviction. You have to look at the manager and he can't keep saying it's a work in progress.

And that the fans were against his appointment from day one because of his sunlun connection and following on from Rafa was always going to be a near impossible task and that our expectations were way too high for a club that hasn’t won a trophy for over 50 years. Then Fat Heeded Sam will be next to be interviewed endorsing the bollocks he’s just said.

No surprise that the best defensive performance of the season (though still not good) came from a back 5 where each of the CBs limitations are covered by the others. With the players Bruce has available, we could comfortably play a back 5, 2 CMs and 3 from 6 ahead of them. The defensive weakness on our left flank can be mitigated by a CM and CB providing a bit of cover. Longstaff might not have the passing range of Shelvey, but he's not bad. His energy, ability/will to carry the ball is much better than the miserable bellend's. The movement of Wilson, ASM, Almiron/Fraser up front and a CM who isn't sedentary would mean the game wouldn't be played on the edge of our 18yd box and our 'keeper wouldn't top the league for saves made.
