I've had an email from the National Lottery telling me they have "exciting news" about my ticket for last Wednesday's draw. But I can't check cos I'm at work and you can't get on the lottery site from here. :o:(

I know it'll only be a tenner, but the anticipation is too much. I might have to tell my boss I've won the lottery so I'm off, and then just come in looking very sheepish tomorrow if it's not the jackpot. :nah:

EDIT! Whaddya all want if I've won?

the National Lottery does NOT send out emails to winners

It's a scam - there are a number around right now for the Irish Sweepstake, El Gordo etc etc

It does if you buy your ticket online. Wrong again, Robster.

Excellent! Rob being wrong is even better than Gemmill being scammed :o

Yeah, you should bankroll this place. Imagine the adulation! The groupies! The pies!

To be fair, most of us get them anyway, it's only Gemmill's fat ginger genes that prevent him scoring with the boys.

I'm not being scammed - it's one of their selling points on their own website, that you don't need to check your ticket because they'll let you know if it's a winner by emailing you. You then have to log in to check on their website what you've won.

Anyway, I think you should all be a bit nicer to me, given my new-found (potentially massive) wealth.

Was gonna say, I'm being attacked by a rather unique scam then...

Every now and then, they've sent me an email and also lobbed a tenner in my account - bless their souls! :o
