We were hopeless. 

 

The amount of passes across the back line and back to keeper when we needed a goal was criminal. Shelvey is done as a top level player. I'm at a loss at to why Matty Longstaff doesn't get a game when he's got a bigger engine than any other CM in the squad

McManamin hit the nail on the head when asked why was Shelvey taking theball pretty much on our 18 yard line time after time. That was the centre halfs job and he should be higher up the pitch.

Willock's signing has to be the end of the Longstaff's chances for this season. Can't imagine Arsenal would loan him out without insisting he plays and Bruce isn't going to drop Shelvey, Hendrick or Hayden ahead of either of the brothers, is he? The fucking mess.

Willlock is an attacking midfielder is he not? It's fairly obvious who he will drop at first opportunity.

From what I've read, they're talking up Willock as a box to box midfielder.  The nearest we have to that is Hendrick so on that basis he should be the one to leave out.  But ASM must now be about ready to start.  At that point surely we must be looking to play him and Fraser either side of Wilson.  So the question becomes two from Hayden (no chance), Shelvey, Hendrick and Almiron to leave out for ASM and Willock.  I know which two I'd pick, certainly at home to a very depleted Southampton, but I supect cabbage head will go with Hendrick and Almiron.
