"We need a reliable striker with Premier League experience"

Internet: "Would you accept injured with no interest in the Premier League?

Louise Taylor: "and.. and.. another issue is one side is going to lose face because um Isak is going to lose face if he has to come back to the team and the owners are going to lose face if they sell him for less than a stratospheric fee, but one of those things is going to have to happen. In the short term is there a sense of mediation, that you could bring an independent sort of figure in to try to resolve this difficult situation?"

"I don't see it as black and white as that, we will support Alex in every way possible. We can't do that at the moment, the situation doesn't allow us to, but there will come a time when we can have conversations with him and focus back on the football."

Louise Taylor: "And finally..."

Media coordinator: Louise sorry, that's enough thank you.

Louise Taylor is anything but a Boniface

I accidentally clicked on her headshot on an article of hers last week and it took me to a “proof of age” page.

I think that's probably a default setting for you. 🙂

It should've been a 'proof of eyesight' test

What's worrying is that we were linked with him over a week ago. It's taken us all this time to bid for a player that Wolves have said isn't for sale unless we pay silly money. Feels like we've run out of ideas...

A least that's better than making us think a deal can be struck so we waste additional time on it.

Don't think we've so much run out of ideas as there are just very very few options. I know people keep posting players up on here but if we thought they were any good, we'd be bidding on them. We're already way way down the list we started the window with.

If Wissa and Strand Larsen can't be pushed through by the end of the window, hopefully we can pick someone up on loan from Chelsea or something daft like that.

We can't afford to spend tens of millions on someone that Howe doesn't really fancy, so a loan deal might be where we end up. Fuck knows who, but it doesn't matter as much cos it's low risk if you get one without any obligation to buy.

The word on Wissa is that PIF won't sanction the price for a player his age. I honestly think PIF need to fuck off with that shit, given that it's incompetence from their appointees that's put us where we are.

Buy the player and give Silverstone the job of mitigating the risk.

According to Ornstein we thought that talks were going positively and then they come out with this shit.

That's been a recurring theme this window. So either the bloke in charge of our transfers can't read the room, or other clubs are taking the piss out of us.

edit - or we get encouragement off the player and agent, but forget we've actually got to convince the club to sell first

So how far down the list are we...

Cunha

Mbuemo

Pedro

Delap

Ekitike

Sesko

Wissa

Larsen

I know hindsight is a wonderful thing, but we'd have been better off offering Jonathan David a £30m signing on fee on day one of the window.

If Brentford don't blink on Wissa then I suspect we will be getting bent over by Chelsea for Jackson on the last day of the window
